The Urris Hills hike by Danny Devlin

To demonstrate that you don't need much to be an active member of the IPA Hiking Club:

A couple of days ago, on my own, I took to the hills in Clonmany, Co. Donegal.

* Starting at the beach at Dunree;

* walking the Urris Ridge as far as Mamore Gap;

* then taking up the Butlers Glen path back as far as the beautiful Glenevin House near Clonmany Village.

In all, the trek was 14.5 km with a total ascent of 860 metres.

With the clear skies the views were spectacular.
