IPA Ireland were delighted with the opportunity to attend the annual Gimborn Talks on 13 – 15 October 2019 at Gimborn Castle outside Cologne, Germany. President Conor O’ Higgins, Secretary General Carlo Griffin, and Accommodation Officer Chris Cahill represented IPA Ireland. During the course of the meeting, both the IPA Junior and IPA Senior Groups brainstormed on areas such as member retention, officer exchanges, professional training and development courses, and social media/communications.
IPA Ireland made good use of this valuable networking opportunity with colleagues from Germany, Austria, Belgium, Sweden, the United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland and Denmark. A number of measures, including a proposed police exchange between Ireland and a Scandinavian Section are being progressed as a result. Watch this space for more details.
